So my challenge to you is to take a moment now, take a few deep breathes, feel calm and relaxed, without tension. Now, honestly look at yourself and your life. Who are you?
Are you your body? Are you your mind? Are you your name? Are you your job? Are you your accomplishments? What has been the part of you that is unchanging your whole life?……Who are you?
Are you comfortable being alone in silence or do you immediately feel restless and unable to be calm and still? Why this agitation? Do you feel this need to distract yourself with work, the TV, social gatherings, food, and endless sometimes pointless conversations?
Are you truly happy? If not, what is preventing you from being happy? What is causing your suffering? Anger, Blame, Attachment, Sadness, Judgment, Resentment, Boredom, Guilt, Pride, pain, being trapped in a negative pattern, job or relationship, not following your passion, stress, desire for something but not having it, or anything else that may come to the surface….Be honest with your self introspection.
What is your no to life?
What is your no to experiencing joy in life?
Why aren’t you truly happy? Be honest and look at your life, and your negative repetitious patterns that cause your own suffering. When you find something, look at it. Make a commitment to become aware when it comes up in your life and longer fall victim to the pattern. Little by little, with awareness, you can begin to make subtle changes in your mindset and way of living that will result in a huge transformation in the overall emotional sate of your life.
“It is an idiot who keeps doing things exactly the same and expects to suddenly get a different result.”
If it is dark and you light a candle, the darkness simply disappears with the small flame of light. Shine the light of awareness onto your darkness, and the darkness will begin to disappear from your life.
Slow down so you can see what is happening and actually experience life rather than getting caught up in the drama.
Also, begin to give what you feel you need and see what suddenly happens. For example, you feel that you need to get some love, try giving someone else some love instead. You might find that you have so much love to give that you no longer need to receive it from the outside. Maybe……
Just try to see what is happening. How hard can it be to pay attention to what you are doing and experiencing?
With Love....Kristie

My Brazil Update
Beloved friends,
I hope that this message finds you in a state of joyful contentment with all that surrounds you in your life.
I have just returned from Brazil and will be spending the next few weeks in Buffalo before returning to India. I apologize for the lack of email updates while I was in Brazil. I wished to share so much with all of you, but I was in a location where internet wasn’t very available. I also had little time to spend with technology because so much of my journey was dedicated to spiritual intensives and deep processing of many aspects of my life. For me, these one and a half months in Brazil with my Guru Prem Baba were equal to at least 5 years of normal self knowledge work. We ventured into the depths of being and then soared high into the realms of divine bliss. It was a roller coaster ride into the self. We looked at our hidden layers of darkness, the masks we often unknowingly wear, our patterns, and packs of vengeance that cause our own suffering. We shined the light of awareness onto these areas so that through their identification we can begin to de-identify from them within our lives. We worked to heal the scars life has placed upon us as we drop the illusions and move closer to a life of freedom, unconditional love and joy….and for those of you I haven’t lost yet, we began the process of the activation of cosmic consciousness. To sum it all….it has been an extremely intense learning process that alternated between realms of extreme anger and sadness and then jumped up to moments of utter bliss and divine love.
It was such gift to share time and space with the Brazilians. Their hospitality and open hearts were a blessing to be around. They truly wear their heart proudly and welcome you into their country with a kiss on the cheek and a warm embrace.
I elected to spend much of my time at Prem Baba’s ashram (spiritual school) opposed to traveling in Brazil. I felt that my purpose for being in South America was to delve more deeply into mediation and self knowledge opposed to wandering aimlessly. As Prem Baba would say: “you are no longer a seeker, you are a founder….you have found the path, you just have to walk it and see where it goes.” So I rode the waves at the ashram…with the exception of a few nights in Sao Paulo where I danced the night away with some amazing Brazilian dancers….(check out the video on facebook). Hehe….
Over these past years of traveling, I have learned so much. I am getting closer and closer to really starting something with these experiences I have been having. I wish to share my wisdom, love and talents of yoga, meditation, healing, dance, travel, writing, photography and inspire others to delve into this beautiful world of happiness. So many people are suffering and no longer have passion for life. They have become so lost in the illusion that they forget their reason for living. They have forgotten those moments when they have felt joy and presence. They are too busy to actually take the time for themselves to enjoy their life and to be grateful for all that they have rather than worrying about all that they are lacking. People want to look around and blame everyone else for their suffering rather than changing the circumstances or when it is not in their power to change it, accept it. The world is in urgent need of healing, but in order to work to heal the world, we must first heal ourselves…..
I hope that this “update” has inspired you in some way. May you walk surrounded by everlasting joy and with the grace of passion and love in your heart, and wisdom etched into your soul.
Best wishes and love for you on your journey,
Kristie
